BLUEHAWK

BlueHawk is in development. The product is not on sale yet.

Technology

How the system is designed

BlueHawk combines an onboard unit, boat-parameter monitoring, geolocation, information transmission and a follow-up application. These functions are not at the same stage of maturity.

Your boat stays under watch, wherever it is.

A perimeter around the arming position, in harbour and at anchor. The map and the zone are in the application. An exit alert exists; it is not instant.

BoatInside the perimeterAlertOutside the zone
The perimeter appears when monitoring is active. Its centre is the arming position. An alert can follow a position received outside that zone. It is not instant, and the continuous link from the onboard unit is still in development.

01

Position watch

In harbour, during lay-up or on a long stay, BlueHawk can watch the boat’s position inside a defined geographic perimeter. If the boat leaves that zone, the system can raise an alert.

02

Anchorage watch

At anchor, BlueHawk can watch the boat’s position against a safety zone. A move beyond the defined perimeter can draw attention to a risk of the anchor dragging. It is an aid to watch-keeping, not a guarantee against dragging, and not an automatic detection.

History and sharing

You put to sea. They keep a quiet mind.

Find the tracks of your recent passages in the BlueHawk application, even from a distance. And because your peace of mind matters to the people who stay ashore, BlueHawk plans to let you share your boat’s follow-up with a trusted person. A simple way to keep the link during your time at sea.

The same fictional passage, as someone ashore would see it. The boat stays on the last position received.

Passage history

From the phone, without being on board, the last known position can be consulted. When the unit’s history is available, the map draws the positions received over 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. The trip log keeps departure, arrival and levels. This is not continuous tracking: points follow the unit’s reporting interval, on the order of a few minutes in the prototype, and the onboard link is still in development.

Shared follow-up with someone ashore

The owner will be able to open access to the boat’s follow-up for a trusted person, then withdraw it. That person would see the transmitted positions and the available track, from their phone. Access roles exist in the product model. There is not yet a screen to invite someone or to revoke that access. This follow-up is not a rescue system and not a safety guarantee.

  1. 01

    Onboard unit

A unit on board is planned to connect the boat to BlueHawk. Identifying it and reading the measurements it reports are in development. This link is not active in the current application.

    In development

  2. 02

    Boat parameters

The application already follows fuel, water, engine hours and battery by manual entry, along with equipment, documents and defects. Automatic reporting of these parameters from the boat is not in service yet.

  3. 03

    Geolocation

The boat map shows the last known position, its timestamp and, when history is available, the track of positions received over 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. That consultation happens in the application, without being on board. It is not a continuous stream. When monitoring is active, a perimeter is drawn around the arming position, and a position received outside that zone can raise an alert. That alert is not instant. The onboard link is still in development. Sharing the follow-up with another person is not offered yet.

  4. 04

    Transmission

Automatic delivery of information from the boat to the application is being built. Until that link is validated, the application relies on entered data and on the latest information available.

  5. 05

    Follow-up and alert application

The cockpit gathers alerts for documents, safety, defects, maintenance and levels, and opens the position. Remote alerts, with the phone closed or by SMS, are not a finished function of this phase.
